William Giovagnoli Obituary

William "Billy" Roland Giovagnoli, age 76, of Rotonda West, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home in North Hampton Beach on July 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on November 3, 1948, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Billy was the son of the late John A. and Laurette F. (Laverdiere) Giovagnoli. He was raised on the family "Giovagnoli Pig Farm", as the locals called it, where he learned the value of hard work and resilience-qualities that would define his life. Billy attended Manchester Memorial High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Billy returned home and began a long and dedicated career with the City of Manchester. He was a familiar and trusted presence in the community, known for his integrity, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family.

Billy is survived by his beloved wife, Marcy (Ryan) Giovagnoli, with whom he shared many cherished years. He leaves behind his daughters, Kim (Giovagnoli) Goupil, husband Ron Goupil, and Jennifer (Giovagnoli) Pinard, as well as his treasured grandchildren, Victoria Krideras, Eli, Emma, and Ean Pinard. He is also remembered fondly by his former son-in-law, Jeff Pinard, and by extended family and friends who meant the world to him.

Brothers: John Giovagnoli and wife Martha of Hollis, NH, Gerald Giovagnoli of Newport, RI, Peter Giovagnoli of Manchester, NH, Daniel Giovagnoli and wife Jeannine of Auburn, NH, Thomas Giovagnoli and partner Diane Gosselin of Boscawen, NH, David Giovagnoli and wife Terri of Manchester, NH. Sisters: Elaine Dolbec of Broad Run, VA, Dianne Officer and partner Michael Brown of Sharpsburg, MD, Jean Duffy and her husband Kevin of Manchester, NH along with countless nieces and nephews.

Billy was a man of deep connection and compassion. He spent many joyful winters in Hollywood, Florida, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying time with loved ones. He loved nothing more than gathering with loved ones over breakfast or dinner, always bringing warmth, a good story, and a touch of humor to the table. His daily phone calls, often about the local weather, were a simple, but touching, reminder of how much he cared for others.

A lifelong aviation enthusiast, Billy never missed an air show and loved anything to do with planes and fighter jets. He had a well-known love for food-favorites included oysters, chocolate éclairs, fig squares, and maple walnut ice cream. But more than anything, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His family was the heart of his world.

Billy was a proud and active member of the American Legion, Henry J. Sweeney Post No. 2.

His warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday July 12th at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament in Manchester, New Hampshire. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the mass at the Parish Hall. A Christian Burial will be held at a later date at the Veteran's Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. My memories of Bill are some of my cherished. I spent many days at his house and helping on the farm. Billy's
whole family had a lasting effect on my life as a person. His mom and dad were a shining example of real people. I remember lunchtime and sitting at the table and joking and laughter in abundance. Heaven was made for Bill. What a wonderful person he was and i will never forget the good times we had chasing the pigs and the cows and chickens and racing cars.
