Anne LaRocque Obituary

Anne LaRocque

Lebanon, NH - Anne Brigid LaRocque passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, just weeks shy of her 86th birthday. Born in Birr, County Offaly, Ireland, on July 18, 1939, Anne immigrated to the United States aboard the RMS Scythia, arriving in New York City on June 24, 1957, where she joined her sister, Ellen.

Anne was one of six siblings: Frank and Tom Nevin (both deceased), Joe Nevin (living in Ireland), Bill Nevin (living in England), and Ellen Wixted (living in Cohasset, MA).

Anne built a rich life in America, beginning in Brooklyn, NY, where she worked as a switchboard operator at a large accounting firm. It was there she met Paul LaRocque, her former husband, with whom she raised four children: Nancy (LaRocque) Pederson, David LaRocque, Joe LaRocque, and Paul LaRocque, Jr.

Her life took her from New York to Lock Haven, PA, then to Simsbury, CT, and finally to Dover, NH. Anne held several roles in the medical field, including positions at UConn Medical Center and Garrison Medical Center in Dover, NH, before retiring from Ocala Regional Medical Center in Florida. Known for her warmth and instantly recognizable voice over hospital intercoms, she was beloved by her colleagues and friends alike.

Anne had a vibrant and social spirit, with a deep love for reading, cooking, gardening, traveling, dogs, antique stores, and garage sales. In her final years living in Lebanon, NH, she formed a cherished circle of friends at Quail Hollow who gathered regularly for cocktails, cheese, and lively conversation.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
