Robert Jordan Obituary

Robert "BJ" Jordan

Plainfield, NH - Robert "BJ" Jordan passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday May 29, 2025, in his home on the family farm in Plainfield, NH. He was born on September 29, 1953, in Windsor, VT. And grew up at Wonder-View, the family dairy farm in Plainfield. His early life was all about farming, and family, cows, milking, barn chores, calves, 4-H, and the summer country fairs.

Bob attended Plainfield schools and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1972. He attended UNH and graduated with a degree in Forestry and Landscape Architecture in 1974. After a short stint working for a local nursery and landscaper, he followed his true passion and calling to be a fire fighter and EMT.

Bob was a licensed EMT for over 35 years, beginning his EMS career at Golden Cross Ambulance in Claremont, NH. He also worked for Speedway Safety Services in Claremont, NH as a firefighter/EMT at NH Motor Speedway. During this time, he was also a member of the Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department and The Cornish Rescue Squad. In 1988, he realized his dream and began his career as a professional firefighter. During his 20-year career with the Lebanon Fire Department, he was awarded a Medal of Valor for river rescue. He also created the Halloween Open House at Lebanon station which has become a family tradition that has been continued on Halloween for nearly 30 years.

He spent most of his adult life as a public servant helping others in his community. After retirement, he followed in his dad Bill Jordan's footsteps and drove a school bus in Plainfield. Most recently, he became a member of the 'North Country Chordsmen' singing group which he greatly enjoyed. Bob loved camping, country fairs, and musical concerts.

Bob was predeceased by his parents Bill and Alice Jordan, and his uncle Ray Jordan.

He is survived by his son Tucker Raymond Jordan of Plainfield, his brother Donald (Judy Biebel), sister Debbie Robie, nieces Lindsay Cote (Conrad), Chelsea Lewis, Jessica Surrette (Richard), Martha Robie-Kozlowski (Phillip), nephew Christopher Monette (Sarah), and many grand nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
