Jennie Walker Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jennie M. Walker on July 2, 2025 at the age of 84 in Upper Marlboro, MD. Born June 24, 1941 in Springfield, KY where her parents and family lived.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Isabell Walker; siblings, Jimmie and Joseph Walker, Mollye Elery and Nancy Mathews.
Jennie grew up in Springfield, KY, graduated from Saint Catharine Academy in 1958 and moved to Washington, DC in 1966 to work for the FBI.
In the fall of 1967, Jennie began her career at AT&T Washington, DC. After working there for 22 years, she took an early retirement from AT&T and pursued her cosmetology license. She worked for Maryland Cosmetologist licensing until her retirement. After retiring, she spent her time volunteering for her church, and she was a Maryland state election official. She was a devout Catholic and member of Holy Family Church. Jennie loved bowling, softball and traveling. She received several awards for excellence in the Bowl America League, and she traveled the world, visiting Africa, Switzerland and several other countries. She loved her family. Although she lived away from her family, she was sure to visit often. Jennie was always willing to lend a helping hand and offer support.
She is survived by her siblings Margaret Alexander, Edward and William Walker, Mary Moseley.
Visitation:11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025,, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1310 W. Broadway, Louisville, KY 40203, funeral service to follow at 1 p.m.
She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by all her family and friends.
