Jack was born John Eugene Reuter on March 4, 1949, in Black Hawk County, IA, the son of Harold William Reuter and Jeanne Helene (Steimel) Reuter. He attended Don Bosco High School in Gilbertville and graduated with the class of 1967. On April 22, 1972, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Ann Vogel in Gilbertville. They made their home in Elk Run Heights, IA, until they moved to the family farm around 1984. He owned and operated Jack Reuter Construction until retiring from construction in 2009. He also loved farming, which he continued until 2021, when his declining health prevented him from continuing. Jack was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters in Gilbertville; also, Knights of Columbus in Jesup and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus in Waterloo, IA. He enjoyed being with family and friends, traveling, farming and building homes. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and he and Kathy rarely missed any event they participated in.

Jack is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathy Reuter of Gilbertville; one son, Jason (Jennifer) Reuter of Jesup; two daughters, Kelly (Todd) Rosonke of Jesup, and Jackie (Brian) White of Independence, IA; also, 6 grandchildren, John (Breanne), Luke, Kaitlyn, Natalie, Kayla and Brielle; one sister, Janice Brettmann of Denver, IA; one brother, Ronald (Carol) Reuter of Waverly, IA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul Reuter in infancy; one brother-in-law, Jerald Brettmann; and his niece Cheryl Reuter.

Kathy and family! Janice and I are profoundly sorry to hear about Jack! After reading this morning nothing but great memories ran through our minds. Meting at Griffs on Friday nights and the stock car races, your wedding and shootingCountry Pool League with Jack and Ron for Louie´s Tap. Great fun and Great Times! We´re sorry we can´t make it for the services from Florida! But our Prayers and thoughts are with you and your family! He was a great guy and I´m proud to say that I knew him and he was our friend! So sorry Kathy!
