Harriet Trail Obituary


Graveside services for Harriet Fern Trail, 89, Dora, Mo., were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Hale Cemetery, Dora.
Mrs. Trail passed away at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at NHC HealthCare. 

She was born April 8, 1936, in Dora to Benjamin and Jean Murdy Collins. On June 17, 1952, she was married in Gainesville, Mo., to Landy Eugene Trail, who preceded her in death March 12, 1998. Landy and Fern were married for over 45 years. 

Mrs. Trail enjoyed doing crafts. She also enjoyed gardening and being outside, and she especially loved her flowers. She could do anything she set her mind to, but she was best known for her fried pies. Mrs. Trail attended Family Life Church in Dora for many years.

She is survived by five children Anita Sledge (Nat), Juanita Luna, Teresa Green, Greta Roberts (Jack) and Eric Trail (Mindy); one daughter-in-law Pam Trail; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and two on the way; one brother Pete Collins; and several nieces and nephews.


Her parents; husband; one son Glendell Trail; one grandson Christopher Roberts; three sisters Lucille Hawkins, Colleen Epley and June Dodson; and two half-sisters Susana and Martha preceded her in death.
