Linda Craig Obituary

Linda Sue Craig, 76, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 28, 2025, at the Laurels of DeKalb, Butler, IN after a brief illness. Linda was born July 3,1949 in Dekalb County, IN. She was the daughter of Richard and Laura (nee Bruner) Craig. Linda was a life-long resident of Dekalb County and was graduated from Eastside High School in 1967. She held many different positions with the Dekalb County Government and retired in 2024 over 30 years of service. Linda is survived by her brothers Larry Craig of Golden Valley, AZ and Bruce (Carol) Craig of Butler, IN; sons: Jeff (Chrys) Kimpel of New Haven, IN and Jeremy (Leah) Kimpel of Angola, IN, son-in-law Robert Zerkle of Murphy, TX; 6 grandchildren: Elijah Zerkle and Samantha, Dravin (Mackenzie), Nicole, Darianne Grace, Robert Kimpel; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Linda had a deep love for her family and was affectionately called "Nana". She had a knack for making floral arrangements and cooking. Her red-hot applesauce salad was always a hit. Nana will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Laura Craig, sister Marilyn Craig, brother Jim (Carole) Craig, sister-in-law Beth (Larry) Craig, and daughter Suzanne (Robert) Zerkle. Per Linda's wishes, no funeral services will be held. The family will be hosting a celebration of life gathering. Details are still pending. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda's honor to International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, P.O. Box 670, Station K, Toronto, ON M4P2C9. I knew Linda from being an Abstractor years ago and working in the Courthouse. She was a wonderful person and I always had a fun time going into the office and chatting with the ladies. She was sweet. I had seen her a couple of times over the years but not in the recent years and often thought of her.
