Mary Meagher Obituary

Mary Lou Meagher, age 92, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Heritage Pointe of Warren. Mary Lou was born on October 12, 1932, in Clearfield, PA, to the late Herman and Rae (Eckley) Barger. Mary Lou married Robert B. Meagher in 1951, and he preceded her in death on September 20, 2008. Mrs. Meagher was a homemaker. She attended Evangelical United Methodist Church in Huntington. Mary Lou is survived by one son, Doug (Patty) Meagher, Wabash, IN; one daughter, Debra Rae (Dan) Garay, Fort Wayne, IN; four grandchildren, Marilyn (Courtney) Knerr, Megan (Chris) Allen, Ashley (Josh) Wilcox, Carmen Garay; four great-grandchildren, Tyler (Micaela) Knerr, Payton Knerr, Madi Wilcox, Nora Wilcox; and one great-great grandchild, Gia Knerr. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Joanne Aughenbaugh; and two brothers, Edward Barger and Herman Barger, Jr. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:30 pm at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750, with Pastor Courtney Knerr officiating. The burial will be at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, 4945 N. Goshen Road, Huntington, IN.
