Brenda Hood Obituary

Brenda Garren Hood, 84, wife of the late Alvin "Sonny" Quinn Hood, passed away October 16, 2025. A native of Greer, daughter of the late James Preston and Myrtle Faye Nix Garren, she was a retired Adjuster at Allstate, and a member of White Oak Baptist Church. Mrs. Hood was a graduate of Greer High School class of 1959, where she played basketball and was the first female inducted into the South Carolina High School Hall of Fame. Surviving are a niece and nephew, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Pastor Lonnie Polson. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held 12:45-1:45 p.m. Tuesday, at The Wood Mortuary.
