On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Carl F. Hershner, 92, of Glen Rock, passed away peacefully at WellSpan York Hospital. He was husband to the late Phyllis J. (Good) Hershner for 68 years before her passing in September of 2020.
Carl was born on July 6, 1933, in York, to the late Furman and Anna (Peters) Hershner. In 1952 he graduated with the very first graduating class at Susquehannock High School. Carl worked at the Glen Rock Steam Bakery and was a part-time barber in Glen Rock for many years. He then retired from AMP, Inc. after over 35 years of dedicated service.
Carl was a member of Masonic Lodge #423 in Shrewsbury, the Roaring Run Rod and Gun Club, and the Jefferson Gun Club. In his younger days, he loved racing snowmobiles, riding motorcycles, going to classic car shows and hunting. He was also a Glen Rock Caroler for over 20 years.
He leaves three daughters, Cindy Winemiller and her husband Jon, Penny Wecker and her husband Mike, Bonnie Carman and her husband Pete; a son Keith Hershner and his wife Cindy; 11 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Public viewing will be held on Monday, October 13, from 10:00 am until a funeral service begins at 11:00 am, at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to a charity of your choice.
