Evelyne Morin Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Evelyne (Boucher) Morin who left us peacefully on July 19, 2025, with her daughter by her side at Skybrooke of Simsbury.
Evelyne was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and a beacon of strength, warmth, and quiet wisdom to all who knew her. She is survived by her loving children, Chantal Cyr of Granby, CT and Steve Morin of Portland, ME, who were the pride of her life. Her legacy continues through her four beloved grandchildren: Zack Cyr, Eric Cyr, Sequoia Walker-Morin, and Marley Walker-Morin, each of whom held a special place in her heart and brought her immense joy. She was predeceased by her husband Bertrand Morin in 1983.
She was born November 21, 1941, in St. Georges, Province of Quebec, Canada the daughter of Marie Blanche and Jean Marie Boucher. At the age of nineteen, she met her soul mate Bertrand Morin. They soon married and sought a better life for themselves by moving to the United States.
Evelyne quickly learned the English language and sought to help her fellow French Canadians looking to follow in her footsteps and move to the United States. She assisted countless individuals with obtaining green cards.
Evelyne spent many years working alongside her husband to build their successful drywall business however she considered her most important job to be a mother. Evelyne was the mom that was always available to participate in school functions, and she always encouraged her kids and their friends to gather at her home. Her door was always open for friends and family.
She enjoyed traveling with friends and family to countless locations in the Caribbean and Mexico. Her Canadian music brought her great joy, and neighbors could hear the music from outside of her home. She also enjoyed playing cards.
Evelyne valued family, consistency, and keeping things simple. She didn't seek the spotlight, but those close to her knew her as someone who could always be counted on. Her presence will be missed, and her memory will remain a core part of the lives she helped shape.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful people who cared for her at Skybrooke of Simsbury and Accent Care Hospice. The care provided to Evelyne was exceptional and made our mother's passing so peaceful and loving.
