Jeanette Hezik Obituary
Jeanette R. Hezik, 87, was called home by the Lord on Monday May 19th, 2025. She was born February 2, 1938 in Northampton, MA to the late Walter Marhefka, and Elizabeth (Benoit) Marhefka. Jeanette is predeceased by her husband Steven W. Hezik and her siblings: Edward Marhefka, Emily Demers, James Marhefka, and Thomas Marhefka Sr. Jeanette met the love of her life, Steven, while attending a Polish dance at the Roselynn Ballroom in Holyoke, whom she later married on May 25th 1957, at Sacred Heart Church in Northampton. From that day forward they became lifelong residents of Westfield in the home that Steven had built. There they welcomed and raised their four daughters. Jeanette was the most beautiful, kind hearted, and loving woman. She adored and cherished God, her husband, and family. Her dedication to her family and faith was evident in the way she tenderly cared for her home, family and friends. Everything she did, she did with grace and love. If asked what she was most proud of in life she would reply with a smile, "My husband, and children". She was an adoring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Jeanette loved visiting family and friends, she cherished spending time with them. She especially loved cooking and sharing meals together. She and Steven enjoyed camping near the ocean, taking road trips up north, and opening their home for holidays, fish fries, and card games, all were welcome. Some of her other favorite pastimes included: attending polish dances, gardening, playing cribbage and uno, knitting and crocheting, cooking, baking, canning, bingo, and ceramics. She leaves behind her adoring and loving family including three sisters: Joan Pauline Shepard, Olive May Malave, and Dianne Sadlowski and her husband Richard Sadlowski. Four daughters: Barbara Sullivan of Deerfield, MA and her lifetime partner William Sullivan of Whatley, MA, Patricia Hezik-Amos and her husband Kenneth Amos of Holyoke, MA, Elaine Hezik and her fiancé Robert Sullivan of Three Rivers, MA, and Dawn Tuttle and her husband Raymond Tuttle of Westfield, MA, eight loving Grandchildren; Jessica Cernak, Heather VanderHeld, Christopher Sullivan, Alyssa Gillis, Jonathon Sullivan, Sarah Dahlquist, Virginia Raymond, Samantha Tuttle, and their spouses, fifteen Great Grandchildren; Zackary, Nickolas, Sophia, Benjamin, J.P, Olivia S., Anna, Olivia C., Brooke, Jameson, Mackenzie, Cole, Jenna, Wyatt, and Hayden, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
