Kim Hand Obituary

Kim Roxane Hand, 67, of Burlington, died Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Birkwood Village of Fort Madison in Fort Madison, IA. Born February 25, 1958, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Ervin and Carol Jean Goodwin. She was married to Jim Hand for close to 20 years but later divorced. Kim worked for Hope Haven for over 20 years sorting cans. She later worked with Goodwill for an additional two years. Kim was one of a kind. She inherited her kindness from her mom. She liked to enjoy two 7-7's just like granny. Kim never knew a stranger and loved all people and animals - especially her cat, Dexter. She cherished her family deeply and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. Kim's passing leaves a sadness, but her kindness and memory will be carried by all who love her. Kim's family include her siblings, Daniel (Lori) Goodwin, Ronald (Renee) Goodwin, Jason, Tracy (Chad) Martin, and Wendy (Lennie Lock) Goodwin; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sadly, Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Carol; and her granny Owens. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory. A celebration of life for Kim will be held Thursday, July 31st, from 4-6 pm with a taco bar at Wake and Bake Breakfast Company (713 Jefferson Street, Burlington). In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the family. Prugh Funeral Service is in care of the arrangements. Please continue to keep Kim's family in your thoughts during this difficult time. To send flowers to the family, please visit our floral store.
