Clyde Wagner Obituary

Clyde Evern Wagner, age 70 of Lewistown, MO passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO

On July 15, 1954, in Durham, MO he was born to Walter Evern and Mildred Myrtle Jones Wagner. On August 30, 1974, in Springfield, IL he was united in marriage to Norma Jean "Toby" Russell.

Surviving are his wife, Toby Wagner of Lewistown, MO; four children, Tracy Parr & Jimmie of Grain Valley, MO, Tabitha Wagner and Michael of LaGrange, MO. Pamela Shrader and Ronald also of LaGrange, MO, Adam Wagner and Staci of Durham, MO; one brother, Leroy Wagner of Ewing, MO; one sister, Judy Gallagher of Quincy, IL; grandchildren, Hannah Berry (Porter), Makenzy Mathis & Jake, Brady Shrader, Chance Shrader and Jessica, Faith Shrader and Benton, Jackson McConnell, Kcin Wagner, Elexis Fusselman and Joey, Noah Wagner and Nataliee Wagner; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. We can't forget his favorite four-legged kids, his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Midge Waller, Dorothy VanOrder, Nancy Davis, Bill Durk, Kenny Durk and Mary Ellen Wagner.

Clyde was raised in Lewis County where he attended Highland High School. He was self-employed in the business of buying and reselling merchandise. He enjoyed auctions, antique toys and tractors, shooting pool, fishing, and scrapping iron. If you knew him for long enough, you knew he could be ornery!

He was an avid reader of his Bible, had a faith in God that kept him rooted and grounded no matter what came his way in life. He taught his children about Jesus, and he lived what he taught. He was always willing to help others. He loved time spent with his family and friends. Clyde especially loved Mama's "Mad" fried chicken. He always joked that he would try to make her mad before she cooked chicken; he said that's when it tasted the best.
