Scott Lanxon Obituary

Scott Arthur Lanxon, a man of adventure and the outdoors, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, in Ashley, Michigan, at the age of 69. Born on May 20, 1955, in Holland, Michigan to his late parents, Garrett and Evelyn Lanxon.
Scott has now returned to being in eternal rest with his beloved wife of over 40 years, Betty Lanxon. His legacy continues through his children, Ryan Ver Hoeven and his wife Julie, and Brent Ver Hoeven; his three siblings, Larry, Lynn, and James; and his adored grandchildren, Bailey, Abbigail, Elizabeth, and Matthew, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
After serving his country with honor in the United States Navy, Scott returned to his roots in Michigan and dedicated many years as a skilled machinist at the Acro Factory. His work was not only a profession but also a craft he took great pride in, contributing to the industry with precision and care.
Scott's passion for the outdoors was undeniable. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and boater, finding solace and excitement in the natural world. His love for these activities was infectious, and he often shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with friends and family. Scott's skill in training hunting dogs was renowned, and his companions were a testament to his patience and expertise. You could often find Scott outside on his deck, listening to his favorite classic rock music. He enjoyed music more than television, including playing guitar in his spare time.
Scott will be remembered as a man who embraced life's adventures with open arms. His adventurous spirit was not just a trait but a way of life that inspired all who knew him. He approached every day with a sense of possibility and encouraged others to do the same. Scott's stories of exploration and discovery will continue to be told by those who loved him, keeping his memory alive.
As we bid farewell to Scott Arthur Lanxon, we celebrate a life lived with passion and love. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and influence the lives of his family and friends. Scott's journey through life was one of purpose, joy, and adventure, and his story will be cherished and remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A private service will be held to honor Scott's memory. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, surrounded by the natural beauty he so loved in life.
