Stacey Swartout Obituary

Stacey Lynn Swartout, 55, passed away peacefully in her home on June 7, 2025. She was born in Albion and spent her life here in Harrison. Stacey was diagnosed in September 2024 with Pancreatic cancer. The grit and determination she brought to that fight was the same determination and grit she brought every day to support the learning of students from all walks of life. Stacey spent 25 years teaching and dedicating her life to helping others in Special Education; the last 6 here in Harrison Community Schools.
Surviving, is her only daughter Quincy Swartout (Devon) of Harrison, mother Mickie Poremski (Frank) of Harrison, father Paul Hackworth Sr. (Connie) of Marshall, brother Paul Hackworth Jr., half-brother Jeremy (Jessie) Hackworth, stepsister Johnna Maurer (Pete), stepbrother Robert (Kari Ann) Poremski. Special lifelong friends Dan, Chari, and Geshel.
Several Aunts and Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews, extended family and friends, and the hearts of the students whom she has inspired to reach their full potential, leaving a lasting, positive mark on their futures.
Stacey is preceded in death by her grandmother Elaine Haring, In-Laws William and Goldie Swartout, and husband of 32 years, the love of her life, Marcus Dean Swartout.
She will always be remembered as an amazing daughter, wife, mother, and educator; who truly loved all "her kids".
