William Henry Obituary

William "Bill" Evert Henry, Jr., age 85, of Clare, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2025. He was born on September 7, 1939, in Hemlock, Michigan, to William Evert and Frances B. Henry, Sr.
Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later worked in the Shipping Department at Dow Chemical. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Vaillancourt, and together they shared a life full of love and family.
Affectionately known by many as "Pa," Bill was a devoted member of Brown Corners United Brethren Church, where he greeted attendees with a warm smile nearly every Sunday. His joy in seeing others-especially children-was evident and heartwarming. In recent years, he also enjoyed serving as a driver for the local Amish community.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Bill held a lifelong devotion to Michigan's teams: the University of Michigan, Detroit Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings. He also had a deep appreciation for NASCAR.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; his children, Susan Mary Hudgins, Scott Evert (Tanya) Henry, and Daniel "Dan" Gerard (Brooke) Henry; his brother, Stewart Henry; and his grandchildren, Joshua Kozlowski, Michael Kozlowski, Bowen Henry, Ryleigh Henry, Liam Henry, and Declan Henry. He was preceded in death by his son, Eddy, and son-in-law, Thomas Hudgins.
In accordance with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Brown Corners United Brethren Church from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., a Memorial Service with Military Honors to be held at 11 A.M..
