Janet Elaine (Bellock) Gibbons
March 28, 1936 - June 26, 2025
Janet Elaine (Bellock) Gibbons, 89, of Dodge, WI, passed away peacefully on June 26th at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse following a heart aneurysm.
Born to Joseph Roy (Neil or Red) & Emma (Halverson) Bellock in Rushford, MN on March 28, 1936. Janet married Vernon Gibbons on his birthday, August 19, 1954. They raised seven children on the farm. They both worked hard outside of the home also.
Janet loved working more than most! She spent many years at Lake Center in Galesville, where she often talked about all the friends she met there. Then, Watkins & Win Craft in Winona till late retirement.
She loved shaking dice with friends at the senior meals at church. She also enjoyed Friday outings with her longtime friend and stylist, Jean Anderson.
She will be dearly missed by many including her children: Glen, Gail (Daniel) Cyert, Gordon (Lori Breska), Gile (Gidget), and Greg; grandchildren: Joshua (Samantha) Sobczak, Misse (Jonas) Schank, Corey (Jessica) Cyert, Candice (Matthew) Schwertel, Willow (Michael) Gibbons, Carissa (Tyler) Daffinson, Courtney (Arick) Pronschinske, Sage (Nathan) Gibbons, and Emily Gibbons; great-grandchildren: Hazel and Henry Schank, Riley, Addison and Brianna Cyert, Briven Daffinson, Clayton and Calvin Schwertel, Kennedy and Kamden Sobczak, Austin, Calkins, Tianna and Trystyn Hoffman, Veronica and Rune Eitsert; sisters: Dorothy, Carol and Ruth; and sister-in-law, Marion.
She was preceded in death by husband, Vernon; son, Gery; daughter Geri; granddaughter, Jaida Hoffman; brothers: Alferd, Lester and Douglas; and sisters: Alta and Marian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Sacred Heart Parish, N20555 County Rd. G, Dodge, WI, with Reverend Kyle Laylan Officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass in the church fellowship hall. Burial and lunch to follow.
The family would like to say Thank you to the Dodge First Responders and Ambulance crews for double duty on the evening of the 25th. Jessie Bawek & Summer Pozanc for the care and compassion you showed our mother more than once. The staff at Gundersen for keeping her comfortable and supporting the family in her final hrs. Special thank you to Father Kyle for getting to the Hospital to bless and pray with her. Priceless!
