James Vassey Obituary

James Brent Vassey

Apr 12, 1975 - Jun 12, 2025

James Brent Vassey, 50, of Winston Salem, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Brent was born on April 12, 1975, in Charlotte, and was the son of James Jerry Vassey and Gayle Z. Vassey.

Brent was an outgoing person, who enjoyed getting to know everyone he met. Brent was a fantastic cook, NASCAR fan, Miami Dolphins fan, and enjoyed golf. Brent was proud of his boys and their accomplishment. Ethan, the oldest, excelled in school and graduated with honors. Zane, the middle son, excelled and competed in track, basketball and football. Brent was teaching his youngest son, Sage, to play golf and passed down the love and skills of the game to him. Brent never missed any tournaments his boys were in. He was a loving father, son, brother and friend to many.

Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Jerry and Gayle Vassey of Clemmons; his brother, Bryan Vassey of Winston-Salem; his three wonderful sons, Ethan, Zane and Sage Vassey; and numerous other family members and friends.

A celebration of life service for Brent will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Frank Vogler and Sons Funeral Home in Clemmons. The family will receive friends following the service till 8 p.m.
