Marie Nesbit Hoyle was born on October 14, 1939, to the late Arthur and Elizabeth Nesbit, in Murrells Inlet, S.C. As the seventh of thirteen children, she grew up in a vibrant, close-knit family and received her education in the public schools of Wachesaw and later at Parke Bille in Pawley's Island. She was a lifelong member of United Metropolitan Baptist Church. Marie's legacy lives on through her surviving children, Delafayette Hoyle Jr. of the home, Laura Ann Hoyle, Terry Hoyle, and Kevin Hoyle (Violet) all of Virginia Beach, Va., Melissa Hogg (Jonathan) of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Natasha Gambrell Trecroci (Paul) of Chicago, Ill. She is also survived by four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Russell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025, at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday at the Church.
