Betty Pulver Obituary

Betty Jane (nee Stabenaw) Pulver

June 9, 1932 - June 23, 2025

Betty Jane Pulver (nee Stabenaw) age 93, of Pardeeville, returned home Monday, June 23, 2025 at Aspirus Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born June 9, 1932 in Portage to Arthur and Eleanor (nee Bublitz) Stabenaw. As a teen she learned to play the accordion and often visited the local soda shop. It was there, where she met the love of her life, Eugene Pulver. He knew right away she was a "keeper."

She graduated from Portage High School and on her 19th birthday they married and moved to Pardeeville. She was a lifelong member of the Pardeeville community and was married for an amazing 74 years! A true showing of love and commitment. While raising a family she worked for Montgomery Ward before going to care for others at the Wyocena Manor. She left there to love and care for her wonderful grandchildren.

She was a bingo enthusiast, but you'd better watch out if she didn't win. You always knew you were in trouble if she pointed her finger at you, by golly. Give her a coffee and donut, a John Wayne or Charles Bronson western, an Elvis Presley or Eddy Arnold song and she was in her zone. Hot days meant a cold beer and slice of watermelon. She was so organized she could pull out a receipt from 20 years ago.

Betty always said: "Family First." She is survived by her loving husband, Eugene; children: Gene, Susan (David) Peetz, Steven (Patti), Daniel (Susan); grandchildren: Jennifer (Stephen) Grimsrud, Cordell (Erica) Peetz, Jacob Peetz, Jonathan (Kayla) Peetz, Christopher Pulver, Cody Pulver, Austin Pulver, Katelyn (Matthew) Rucker, Kelly (Mike Krueger) Pulver, Renee (Kevin) Pulver-Johnson; great-grandchildren: Isaiah Peetz, London Peetz, Emmit Canty, Isabella Taylor, Malakai Peetz, Kinzley Peetz, Kamryn Grimsrud, Myla Peetz, Mason Pulver, Lillian Pulver, Natalia Peetz, Adaline Peetz, Eleanora Peetz, Calumina Johnson, Lovina Peetz, Kemmett Johnson, Casey Pulver-Krueger; sister-in- laws, Mary Stabenaw, and Mary Alice Pulver; plus several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Eleanor; brothers, James and Donald Stabenaw; mother and father-in-law, Ralph Pulver and Esther Lange; granddaughter, Stephanie Pulver; brothers-in-law, Robert and Eldon Pulver; and sister-in-law, Marie Stabenaw.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Brenda Blohm, Aspirus Hospital, Pastor Jim Cotter and Grasse Funeral Service. We love you Mom!

"Wise men say only fools rush in. But I can't help falling in love with you." -Elvis Presley
