Nancy Markowski Obituary

Nancy J. Markowski, 82 of W. Eaton, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Wynn Hospital, Utica. She was born on January 13, 1943, in Norwich, a daughter of the late, James and Roberta (Francis) Rivenburgh. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Cazenovia High School. On May 12, 1962, in Munnsville, NY, she married Frank W. Markowski. He predeceased her following 48 years of marriage on January 13, 2010. After taking care of her family for many years, she took a position at Colgate University as a custodian, with over 20 years of service until her retirement. She loved to sew and made many blankets for local charities and friends. She also became an avid scrapbooking fan. Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Arleen R. and Raymond Kaul of SC, Tracy Markowski and Tom Seligson of NJ; a granddaughter, Brittany Kaul of SC; two brothers, Ed (Jill) Rivenburgh of W. Eaton, Bob (Diane) Rivenburgh of FL; two brothers-in-law, Casmir (Sharon) Markowski, Lawrence (Margaret) Markowski both of W. Eaton and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Miller and Roxanna Greene and two brothers, Bill and Jim Rivenburgh. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 2 pm at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY 13346. Friends are invited and may call at the funeral home from Noon to 2 pm prior to the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
