Vivian Wright Obituary

Vivian (Howard) Wright, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. She was born in Lafayette on March 22, 1952, the beloved daughter of Jack and Tressie (Cullum) Lewalski-Howard. A devoted sister, she played a central role in helping to raise her younger siblings, always offering support with a steady and caring hand. She had a deep love for her family and found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether she was tending to her yard, filling the air with the sound of wind chimes, or refilling hummingbird feeders, she was most at peace in nature. Her connection to the outdoors was a constant thread throughout her life. She worked at Walmart for over 20 years, known for her dedication and strong work ethic, before retiring to enjoy more time at home and with loved ones. Her Catholic faith was a steady presence in her life, guiding her with quiet strength. An excellent cook, she was especially known for her carrot cake, a family favorite that will be lovingly remembered. She married Charles on September 4, 1983, and together they built a life full of love and shared memories. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched with her warmth, hard work, and generous spirit. Vivian is survived by her daughters, Tammy (Christopher) McGrath, Samantha Hunter, Leann Grey, and Jenny (Edward) Swiger; grandchildren, Brandon Clevenger, Destinee (Jake) Eddison, Bryan (Peighton) McGrath, and Nicole McGrath; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchildren; and eight siblings, Rose, Sue, Dean, Sherry, Terry, Gary, Jimmy, and Mike. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; a grandson, Dylan B. Whitlock and siblings, Steve, Todd, and Sandy. Family and friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel, 3631 Morehouse Road, West Lafayette, Indiana. Burial will follow.
