William Kidd Obituary

William Jay "Bill" Kidd, 78, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Indiana Veterans Home. He was born on April 30, 1947 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Kenneth and Eleanor (Silcox) Kidd. After graduating from Huron High School in 1966, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force and served Honorably for four years. He worked at the Rockwell Spring Factory in Flora for ten years, and also worked as a cab driver and as a clown for Smiles Unlimited, where he would entertain kids in hospitals and at birthday parties. He was also a member of Flora First Christian Church. In his free time, Bill enjoyed fishing, and watching wrestling and old Westerns. Bill was married to Mary Ann (Young) in June of 1981 in Chatsworth, Georgia, and she preceded him in death on January 30, 2025. Bill is survived by his stepdaughters, Tena (Darrell) Stewart, Carla Smith, and Christa Ford; and brother, Allen Kidd. He also leaves eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren to cherish his memory. In addition to his parents and wife, Mary Ann Kidd, Bill was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Tracie Applegate. There will be a private family graveside service held at Indiana Veterans Home Cemetery at a later date, where Bill will then be laid to rest.
