Yong Kim Obituary

Yong Jin Kim, 94, of Wilmington, recently in Minnesota, passed away on April 11, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeong Soo Kim and Seon Shik Park Kim; spouse Hei Ran Kim; son John Kim; and siblings Yong Ouk Kim and Yong Eun Kim. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Jean Kim Maierhofer; daughter in law, Sarah Kim; grandchildren, Alex and Ethan Maierhofer; Amelia, Cameron, and Serena Kim; siblings, Yong Taik Kim, An Ja Kim, Kyung Ja Kim, Young Sung Kim; many relatives and good friends.

Yong graduated from Medical College, Seoul National University. He was a Veteran of the Republic of Korea Army, South Korea and served as a 2nd Lieutenant during the Korean War. He worked for more than 25 years as an Obstetrician-Gynecologist at Clinton Memorial Hospital until retirement. He enjoyed gardening, growing orchids, and watching his favorite baseball and football teams from Ohio and Minnesota. He moved to Minnesota in 2015 to be close to his daughter Jean and her family.

Upon his passing, he was cremated after a private family ceremony. Burial of both Yong and Hei Ran Kim will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Clinton County Memory Gardens followed by a celebration of life service at 2:15 PM at Wilmington United Methodist Church.
