Melvin Green Obituary
Melvin Green was born on April 14, 1951 to Marie and Hulett Green in Woodbury Ga. On October 17, 2025 he unexpectedly left this life to be with Jesus surrounded by his wife and kids. During his 74 years, Melvin was always dressed down, boots shined, hat tilted just right - always looking super fly. He took pride in his style and in the way he carried himself. If you were around him long enough, you were bound to learn something - because Melvin had a lesson, a story, or a piece of advice for everybody.
Melvin married Pamela Douglas on November 12, 1977. Together they shared many years and two children, Tangela Douglas and Latreesha Green. He was proud to call Sherman, Texas home, where he worked for the City of Sherman for 10 years.
Melvin's life was not without its flaws or challenges, but he left behind lessons, memories, and reminders that life is to be lived - sometimes loudly, sometimes imperfectly, but always the life of the party.
He will be remembered in his own way, for the laughter he sparked, the words he shared, and the mark he made on those who knew him.
He has left behind his wife, Pamela Green, Sherman tx daughters Tangela Douglas and Latreesha Green Sherman tx. Grandchildren JaShaylin Carter, Jayson Ezell, and JaBraedyn Posey. Great Grandchildren Emery Bennett, Serenity Chapman and E'Den Chapman all of Sherman. Sisters Priscilla Campbell of Fayetteville Ga, Linda Green, Sharon Green and brother Lester Green all of Woodbury Ga, brother Willie Patrick of Alberton Ga. and a host of nieces and nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by both parents, brother Stanley green, Gary Green, Rex Green Terry Green. Hulett Green, sisters Doll Green and Marjorie Humpries.

A Prayer of Rest
God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you fade,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard-working hands put to rest -
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
