Robert Perrin Obituary
A humble soul whose laughter filled every room, Robert Lloyd Perrin, fondly known as Bobby, passed away on October 14, 2025. Born in Dodgeville, WI, USA, on February 8, 1950, Robert spent his entire life in the Midwest, a region he cherished deeply. A loving father, brother, and grandfather, Bobby's life revolved around his family, whom he adored immensely. His heart was as vast as the plains he grew up on, extending its warmth to every person and creature he encountered. Known as the 'animal whisperer,' Robert had a natural affinity for animals, caring for them with a gentle touch and unwavering dedication, whether on his farm, home, or the race track.
A talented horse trainer by profession, Robert was a notable figure in the Illinois Harness Horse Racing industry. His exceptional skills, coupled with his deep understanding of horses, earned him respect among his peers and the community. Bobby's love for the outdoors extended beyond his profession; he was an avid fisherman who relished the tranquility of the waters and the thrill of the catch. His simplicity, modesty, and endearing humor made him a joy to be around, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Robert Perrin is survived by his sons, Tom (Sheila) Howard and Chad (Rebecca) Howard; his brother, Larry Perrin; his sisters, Goldie Peterson, Jean Suing, and Judy Virgin; his brother, Bill (Terri) Perrin; his grandsons, Christopher Howard, Collin (Kayla) Howard and Jeffery Roberts; his great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Norah; Betty Kirkpatrick, mother of his sons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Lois (nee Bell) Perrin, and his siblings, Carson Perrin, Phyllis Wright, Dorman Perrin, and Jimmy Perrin.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date, with final resting place to be Rockton Township Cemetery.
It was Bobby's wish to be an organ donor before his cremation. His desire was to help and heal as many people as possible.
Let us celebrate the life of Robert Perrin, a man who found joy in simplicity, loved unconditionally, and lived with unwavering integrity. As we remember him, we encourage you to share your memories, stories, and photos on his memorial page. Let us remember Bobby not with sadness, but with the joy and laughter he brought into our lives.
