Patrick Turner Obituary

Patrick Turner, age 77, of Linton, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Greene County General Hospital. He was born in Linton, IN on December 9, 1947, the son of Howard Turner & Patricia (Fry) Humphreys. He was a 1966 graduate of Linton High school. He was an apprentice mason while he was in high school then went on after a couple of years to join the IBEW electrical apprenticeship. He was a member of the Saron United Church of Christ, Linton Elks Lodge #866 and American Legion Post #22. He had volunteered for the local food pantry as well as the SON Ministries. Patrick was elected Mayor of Linton from 1980-1984. He was a meticulously honest man and always put the welfare of his family and others before his own. He had a wide array of hobbies that ranged from, but not limited to, raising bird dogs and going hunting with them, taking old time photos, dabbled in stained glass, playing the ukulele and harmonicas, puttering around in his shop but most recently he became a bee keeper. He always liked to keep busy with his hands working on projects and finding new hobbies to learn and when he wasn't doing that you could always catch him with his nose in a good book where he could fulfill his thirst for knowledge. Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Antonette "Toni" Turner of Linton; sons, Grayson (Tracy) Turner of Linton and Ethan (Capricia) Turner of Clayton; daughter, Patricia Turner of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Levi Turner, Jared Turner, Morgan (Dusty Alsman) Turner, Nic (Donovan) Snyder, Lindsay Turner and Madeline Turner; great grandchildren, Myla Turner, Kaylana Snyder and Aryiah Alsman; mother-in-law, Jean Boyer as well as his canine companion, Sophie. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Lindsay Jane Turner and Veronica Jo Turner; step-father, Robert Humphreys; step-mother, Euleta Turner as well as his brother, John Turner. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Thursday, July 31, 2025 with Pastor JD Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
