Mary Green Obituary

Mary Jane Collier Green was born on July 28, 1942, in Tupelo, Mississippi. She was the seventh child of Murray and Ollie Mae Collier. At the age of 10, Mary accepted Christ as her personal Savior at Mt. Pleasant Tupelo Missionary Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to Arthur L. Green Sr. of Birmingham, Alabama, until his passing in 1968. Mary was a devoted mother of three children and resided in Birmingham, Alabama, Beloit, Wisconsin, and Chicago, Illinois, before settling in Belden, Mississippi, where she built her own home in 1978. Mary was always known for her love of visiting and caring for family and friends. Mary was a dedicated worker throughout her life. She held positions at the Chicago Framing Factory, various private homes in Tupelo, and spent 27 years at North Mississippi Medical Center before retiring. Yet, her most cherished work was her service to the Lord. She faithfully served as the Correspondence Secretary for the Springhill District Ushers for 12 years and as an usher and longtime Vice President of the Mt. Pleasant Tupelo Usher Board. Mary was called home to eternal rest on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family. Her life was a testament to faith, love, and service. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her. To plant Memorial Trees in memory of Mary Green, please click here to visit our sympathy store.
