Tony Childers Obituary

Tony Albert "Rome" Childers, age 68, of York, SC passed away on Monday, July 14th, 2025 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC. All Services will be private. Tony was born on December 11, 1956 in York, SC. He is the son of Beattie A. Childers, Jr. and Margie B. Childers, whom he loved so much. He was baptized at Eastview Baptist Church; Jesus Christ is his Lord and Savior. Tony graduated from York High School and attended Winthrop College. He retired from the York County Assessor's office where he made some great friends. He was a member of Spring Lake Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He enjoyed spending time at the beach. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother Charles Derek Childers whom he loves very much. Also, special friends, Tim Hartsoe, Ronnie Heffner, Gary Lane, and Stan Howell were like his brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, PO Bx 1455, Charlotte, NC 28210, Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731, or Eastview Baptist Church, 1430 Gordon Rd. Rock Hill, SC 29732. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.brattonfuneralhome.com.
