Monte Charles Womack, age 64, passed away on May 27, 2025, in Boynton,
Oklahoma. Monte was born April 12, 1961, to Charles Womack and Norma (Ford)
in Sherman, Texas. They lived briefly in Fox, Oklahoma before returning to Idabel,
Oklahoma where Monte graduated High School in 1979. He went onto Eastern
Oklahoma State College and received an Associate's in Agriculture. While
attending EOSC, he met the love of his life, Reina (Haworth). They married on
September 12, 1980, in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Monte went on to attend Oklahoma State University, earning his Bachelor's
degree in Agricultural Education and later earned his Master's Degree in
Administration.
He began his teaching career at Weleetka, Oklahoma. During his years of
agricultural education Monte became determined to leave his mark in the world of
agriculture.
Monte was a dedicated agriculture educator, leader, and advocate with a lifelong
commitment to FFA and agricultural education. As a State FFA Officer and later a
National FFA Intern, Monte developed a deep passion for leadership and service,
which he carried throughout his career. With 14 years as an agricultural teacher
and 23 years as a school administrator, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the
future of students in agricultural programs.
Monte has served in numerous leadership positions, including Chairman of the
FFA Alumni, a board member for the Ag Teacher Scholarship Board and WLC
Scholarship Committee, and a member of the National FFA Alumni Board and
National Ag Teachers Association Board. His dedication to the Oklahoma Youth
Expo (OYE) spans over 25 years, where he has been an integral part of the hog
ring.
Beyond the classroom and administrative roles, Monte actively supported
leadership development programs, serving as a chaperone for MFE (Made for
Excellence), ALD (Advanced Leadership Development), and WLC (Washington
Leadership Conference). His contributions to FFA are extensive, earning him the
State and National FFA Honorary Degree, National FFA VIP Award, State FFA
Degree, and, most recently, the State FFA VIP Award. Monte has volunteered as a
cabin dad at Alumni Camp for over 25 years, helped establish the State FFA Silent
Auction, and had been a longtime supporter of Oklahoma FFA through
scholarships and donations for over a decade. Additionally, he has judged state
and national-level FFA competitions, further demonstrating his commitment to
agricultural education.
Through it all, Monte lives by his motto: "Have a smile on your face and love in
your heart." He firmly believed that his success and impact would not have been
possible "without Reina," whose support has been instrumental in his journey.
Monte Womack's unwavering dedication and passion will continue to inspire the
next generation of agricultural leaders, leaving a lasting impact on students,
teachers, and the agricultural community.
